The Last Days of His Life Spent in Monrovia
Captain Carmi W. Beach, who had been in ill health for some months past, died last Friday at Monrovia, a small town near Los Angeles. Mr. Beach was 46 years old and was well-known in San Francisco, where he had resided for nearly fifteen years. He was a member of the School Board from 1884-1886 and was prominently connected with the Grand Army organization of this city. He served in the war as a Captain of the Second Wisconsin Cavalry, was a member of George D. Thomas Post, No. 2, and also a member of California Commandery of the Loyal Legion. The remains are expected to arrive in Oakland tomorrow, and the funeral will take place at 562 Eighth Street, under the auspices of the Knights Templar.
