Nellie Evelyn Dudley, 91, of Vandalia, Missouri passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia. At her request no visitation or services are planned.

Mrs. Dudley was born August 11, 1929 in Vandalia, the daughter of Leslie and Susie Pew Hays.


Survivors include: one son, Johnny Dudley; four daughters, Judy (Darryl) Kraft, Janet Miller, Helen (Bill) Elson and Brenda Dudley; one sister, Shirley Jennings; and ten grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by: one son, Jerry Dudley; two daughters Dorothy Dudley and Carol (Gary) Moore; a teen-aged sister Dorothy Hays and an infant brother Francis Hays; and two other sisters, Wanda Smith Brockschmidt and Doris Mink; four brothers, Venton, Bill, Jerry and Kenneth Dean Hays; and one grandson, Clint Dudley.


Mrs. Dudley was a lifetime area resident. She was employed through the years at Bobbie Brooks, Cal-Jac Industries, Tri-County Care Center and she also worked in several area restaurants. She enjoyed country music, watching RFD TV and the game show network, quilting, babysitting her grandchildren and using her car to "putt putt" around town.
