d/o Charles P. Morris & Jennie McNulty. After the death of Jennie, Lou was adopted by his older brother, Joseph D. Morris & Helen "Nellie" Dunning. Her sister, Virginia R. Morris, was adopted by the sister of Joseph & Charles, Mary E. Morris Hines Bixby in Muskogee, OK. Lou married 1)King Brown on Oct 19, 1911, 2)J. D. Georges between 1927 and 1934, and 3)Eugene W. Trevor on May 15, 1934. One biological child; Robert Morris Brown, Japanese POW during WW II. King and Lou adopted a daughter; Neva A. Brown, w/o Clinton E. "Shorty" White of Moline, IL.

The 1900 censuses state Virginia Rebecca "Jennie" and Clara Louise "Lou" were both born in Illinois, as does Lou's marriage license to King Brown. The 1910, 1930 and 1940 censuses list Lou's birthplace as Oklahoma.

Letter from Robert Morris Brown, dated Dec 18, 1985.
". . . I have before me a picture of my blood grandmother [Jennie McNulty] - a most striking woman - this is a copy of the original - she died on her grant (land) around 1895 of Typhoid Fever. The story goes that both girls were left in care of friendly Indians while their father (Charles) and their maternal grandfather drove via wagon into Muscogee for a coffin and to report her death!
I once had a picture of Jennie (about 10 years old [1893]) the maternal grandfather sitting holding the the baby which was my mother [Lou] - this picture was made in Muscogee - name of studio and town was printed at bottom of picture - here are two incidents that indicates that Muscogee was nearby. The reporting of the death of Charles's wife and the picture of Jennie, my mother, and their maternal grandfather. . ."
