Darral Duncan, 79, of Brownsburg, passed away on September 12, 2020.

He was born on October 5, 1940, in Coal City, Indiana. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Dona (Megenhardt) Duncan. He is also survived by his daughter Tonya (JR) Prentice, son Pat (Rhonda) Duncan, grandchildren Trent (Maggie) Whittington, Michael (Jennifer) Duncan, Mariah Duncan, Taylor Prentice, great granddaughter Marlee Duncan and his sister Donnetta Duncan. He was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Elnora Duncan and his brothers Larry and Dick Duncan.

Darral served 33 years for the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis, retiring in 1994 as Administrative Chief of Staff. He enjoyed hunting and spending time outdoors with family and friends. Darral was a long-time member of the Conservation Bird Dog Club in Amo, Indiana. Throughout the years, Darral raised quail, had Quarter Horses and Tennessee Walking Horses and later miniature horses named Woody and Buzz.

Darral and Dona always had a bountiful garden. A loyal and devoted family man, Darral loved to be surrounded by his children and grandchildren, usually enjoying nature. Later in life, he could often be found hunting rabbits with his beagles or at a family skeet shoot. He shared his love of hunting and knowledge of the outdoors with all who knew him. He could always be counted on to help a neighbor.

Darral was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brownsburg and memorial donations may be made there in lieu of flowers.

Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home in Clay City, officiated by Pastor Chris Truelsen. Visitation will be from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Burial will follow the services at Fiscus Cemetery.
