Sunni tribal leader of the Anbar Salvation Council which is alliance of Sunni Arab tribes that worked with very closely with U.S. troops. He was considered the most influential leader of an alliance of Sunni Arab tribes that joined forces with U.S. troops to push al Qaeda from much of the western region. He was known as a charismatic man always dressed in long robes. He and three of his bodyguards were killed by a roadside bomb attack near his home in in Ramadi which is the capital of Anbar. An Al Qaeda-led group said on Friday September 14th that it was responsible for the killing.

Had a cemetery burial, but it is unknown which cemetery he is located.
