Anna May Stiles, wife of William P. Stiles, died at her home, 333 Hollister ave., SE., on Friday, March 11, 1921, at the age of 51 years, 10 months and four days.
She was formerly Anna May Campbell, born in Lawton, Michigan, May 7, 1869. Her parents moved to Hastings, Michigan, while she was still a baby and remained there until she finished school; then moved to Coopersville, Michigan, in 1888. She was married there to William P. Stiles, April 30, 1892, and made their home there until the last few years, which were spent in Grand Rapids, Michigan. To this union two children were born, Myrtle Emily and Elsie Mae.
After a long and patient illness, suffering for many years, her last six weeks were spent having her family at her bedside constantly. She was a loving wife and devoted mother.
Those surviving her to mourn her loss are her husband and daughters, Elsie Mae at home and Mrs. Chas. Wooster and grandchildren, Glenn and Clyde of Harvard, Michigan. Her mother, Mrs. Elsie Campbell, and sisters, Mrs. W.J. Damoth of Pensacola, Florida; Mrs. J.W. McKee of Detroit, Michigan and brothers, Leon J. Campbell, Lyman L. Campbell of Buchanan, Michigan; Melvin H. Campbell of Chicago Ill.; besides other relatives and numerous friends.
She was a Past Noble Grand of Three Link Rebecca Lodge No. 227, of Coopersville. Services were conducted by the Rev. John A. DeGraff at the residence at 2 P.M. Burial at Oak Hill cemetery, Monday, March 14th, 1921. (published in the Grand Rapids Herald 3/16/1921 – pg 5)
