Mrs. Nanette Joy Reckart Eaton, age 75, wife of Hal S. Eaton, passed away Friday, September 11, 2020 at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.

Born July 7, 1945 in Kingwood, WV she was the daughter of the late James Ward Reckart and the late Aileen Phares Reckart Bonafield.

Mrs. Eaton retired as an administrator in higher education. She obtained her MA from WVU and her BA from Keene State. Mrs. Eaton was a member of First Presbyterian Church Myrtle Beach and formerly a member of Wesley UMC in Kingwood, WV, and a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorrority. She was also a member of the WVU Alumni Association and held both elected and appointed positions on boards of the American Cancer Society, the Rindge Public Library,the Democratic Party and also a member of DAR and the American Red Cross Overseas Association. Mrs. Eaton served as a Red Cross social worker statewide and in the Far East during the Vietnam War.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her step-father, James H. Bonafield, a brother, Stephen Reckart, her maternal grandparents, Jasper and Addie Phares, and her paternal grandparents, Asa and Lydia Reckart.

Survivors include her husband, Hal S. Eaton, Sr.; her step-son, Hal S. Eaton, Jr. and wife Tricia of King of Prussia, PA; her step-daughter, Lori E. Musselman and husband Peter of Norfolk, VA; her grandchildren, Riley Eaton, Adele Eaton, Hal Daniel Eaton, Andrew James Musselman, Jacob Musselman, and Caroline Musselman; her brother Rodney Bonafield and wife Carla of Cape Coral, FL; her step-brother, Jack Bonafield of Kingwood, WV; her step-sisters, Jill Bonafield White of Charlotte, NC, Jean Bolyard and husband John of Fairmont, WV, and Dorothy Snyder and husband Joe of Dover, DE; and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.

No local services are planned. Services will take place at a future date at Arlington National Cemetery.
