Emmett was son of John Thomas and Mattie Riddle Terry. He never married. Emmett lived his life taking care of his mother, the family farm and was caretaker of the Cana Cemetery and the Cana Baptist Church. The gates to the Cana Cemetery are dedicated to his Memory for the many years of upkeep of this cemetery and the church grounds. Emmett was fun to be around - always playing jokes on family and friends. Emmett also served his country in WWI in France.
