Roy, age 79, passed away at Stoney Brook Retirement Community in Manhattan. He was the son of Fred Sr. and Mary Anna (Ehleres) Howard. He graduated from St. George (KS) High School. He married Dorene Frances Prockish on February 15, 1948, in Manhattan. He worked at Union Pacific Railroad for 30+ years. He is survived by his wife, his sons, Dennis Howard, Jerry Howard, and Dr. William Howard, and his sisters, Hazel Kufahl and Anomia Elder. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Arvle Howard, Viola Hoffman, Delmar Howard, Alta McCarter, Geneva Blume, Frank Howard, and Fred Howard. Mass of Christian burial was held at Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Manhattan. Burial was in Saint Bernard Cemetery north of Wamego.
