"Colonel" Allen Eugene Beavers of Mountain Home, Arkansas went home to heaven on September 13, 2007. He was 84 years old.
He was born in Marshall, Arkansas on March 11, 1923, one of eighteen children.
His parents were David Crockett and Belle Allen Beavers of Marshall.
Allen married the love of his life, Janette Killion on December 24, 1942 and they shared sixty-five wonderful years together.
After retirement Allen enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. He was a Protestant, cattle farmer, and an auctioneer.
Allen attended the Fort Smith Auction School in Fort Smith, Arkansas and graduated 2nd in his class on February 23, 1952. Allen auctioneered at many sale barns around the tri state area, including Conway, Clinton, Harrison, Beebe, Ash Flat, Mountain View, Arkansas , Cassville and Gainsville, Missouri. Allen and Janette made many wonderful friends in the sixty plus years they resided in Marshall.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, sisters, and his youngest daughter Ione Beavers of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
He is survived by his wife Janette, daughter Katharine LaVerne and husband Ancil Jones of Mountain Home, Arkansas. Also surviving are grandchildren Kimber Line, Amanda and Corey Jones, Edward and Todd Beaver, and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service to celebrate Allen's full and wonderful life was held at Roller Coffman Chapel in Marshall
with Lester and Donnie Chisum officiating. Burial was in Marshall Memorial Gardens.
Allen's sense of humor, generous spirit, and love of family will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Pallbearers were; Corey Jones, Todd and Ed Beaver, Mike and Berry Beavers, and Ancil Jones.
Honorary pallbearers were; Bill McEntire, Willard Campbell, Joe Jones, Reggie Mercer, and Charlie Floyd House.
