Edgar E. Dickey 1028 E. Vine St. Age 75, died suddenly of a Thoracic Aneurysm at 5:45 p.m. Thursday, December 31, 1987.
He was born on October 5, 1912 in Cleveland, Ohio.
He received his AB from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1934, his MS from Ohio State University in 1941, an Honorary MA from Lawrence University in 1977.
Prior to moving to Appleton, Edgar taught high school Science in Ohio and was a Research Associate at Ohio State University and Senior Research Associate and Professor of Chemistry at the Institute of Paper Chemistry from 1949 until his retirement in 1976. He was a member of the American Chemical Society, the Society of Sigma Xi and the First Congregational United Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Agnes (Stump) Dickey; his daughter, Neysa Dickey and her husband, Walter Baese, U.S. Park Service, Deer Lodge, Montana; a son, Pete Dickey, Appleton; a daughter-in-law, Emma Dickey, Appleton; a granddaughter, Dawn Dickey, Appleton.
He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Lyn; two brothers: Emerson and John; and a sister, Helen Brunswick.
There will be no visitation. It was Edgar's wish that he be cremated. Memorial services are pending.
Memorials may be directed to the First Congregational United Church of Christ or to the charity of the donor's choice.
