Thomas Elzy McDonald, 90, of Bald Knob passed away Sept. 20, 2020. Born Dec. 13, 1929, to Evet and Myrtle McDonald, Tom was a retired trucker driver. He loved to garden, raise hogs, travel and tell stories of times past and present. He was beloved husband, father and grandfather.

He married Laverne Hilton on Nov. 6, 1948, in Kensett, Ark. They were married 59 years before her passing on April 1, 2007.

He married Margarette Kerns on April 26, 2008, in Memphis, Tenn. He lovingly told everyone this was his sweetheart and that is how he introduced her to many. He loved her children and grandchildren.

Also surviving are: son, James Denton McDonald Sr, “Yogi” (Wanda); three grandsons, Denton McDonald (Karen) Chris McDonald (Pam) and Greg McDonald (Carla); two great-granddaughters, Emilee and Hannah McDonald; three great-grandsons, Dylan, Andy and Ethan McDonald; and one brother, Max McDonald. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Janie Sue Murray; five sisters; and three brothers.

Visitation is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2020, with funeral to follow at 2 p.m. at Searcy McEuen Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Dogwood Cemetery.
