Mrs. Alice Holland Johnson, 99, of Buckeystown, died Saturday, May 31, at her residence. She was the wife of the late John R. Johnson. Born Oct. 15, 1886, in Hopeland, she was a daughter of the late Lee and Matilda Holland. Mrs. Johnson was a member of Buckeystown United Methodist Church, Buckeystown.
She is survived by two sisters, Genevieve Diggs, Boonsboro, Margaret Johnson, New York; one brother, Emory Holland, Hopeland; three nephews, Robert M. Holland, Adamstown, Robert T. Holland and Kermit Holland, both of Frederick; a devoted friend, Charles Whims, Buckeystown; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, at the Buckeystown United Methodist Church, Michaels Mill Road, Buckeystown. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, at the church. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, at the church. Mrs. Johnson’s pastor, the Rev. J. Sherman Mason Sr., will officiate. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Frederick. Those desiring may send memorial contributions to Buckeystown United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 86, Buckeystown, Md. 21717. Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, is in charge of arrangements.
