Aged minister, who has been in West Florida more than fifty years expires - interment here today. Rev. L.A. [Lazarus Alpheus] Jones, aged 79 years, a minister for more than fifty years, and confining his field almost exclusively to West Florida, died yesterday morning at Falco, Alabama and the remains reached the city last night. Interment will be made here today, the body of the aged minister to be placed by the side of the wife who preceded him to her reward about three years ago. The funeral will take place at 10 o'clock this morning from the home of his daughter, Mrs. N.V. Clopton at 1010 West Belmont street. Interment in St. John's cemetery. Rev. Mr. Jones was much devoted to his work. Having no regular charge, he visited with unfailing interest the various churches in this part of the state of Florida and as far as Florala and Lockhart, Alabama. Having served in the ministry for more than half a century, and going into the highways and byways for his audiences, he built up a large acquaintance, many of whom will be pained to learn of his death. He was the last of a family of sixteen children. Quite a number of relatives survive him in Pensacola and the immediate surrounding country.
