Maynard J. "MJK" Keller, 78, of Machesney Park passed away on his mother's birthday, Tuesday, September 22, 2020, in his home surrounded by the love of family. Born October 26, 1941, in Dickinson, N.D., the son of George and Dorothy (Barta) Keller. Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1961 to 1963. Married Linda J. Amann on August 10, 1964, in Richardton, N.D. Employed by Chrysler for 38 years, retiring in 2001. Member of St. Bridget Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. He was a registered official for IHSA for 54 years, touching the lives of athletes all over the Rockford area. Officiating softball, baseball and basketball was his true passion. He was proud of his Chevy Bel Air and Dodge Dakota, both known as the "Blue Angel". Diehard Chicago Bear, Chicago Cubs fan and avid card player. Always full of stories and a smile, he brought life to any room. Survivors include his wife, Linda; children, Jeff (Jennifer) Keller, Janeen (Matthew) Mollenhauer and Joel (Kimberly) Keller; grandchildren, Eric Keller, Emily Keller, AJ Mollenbauer, Linzy Keller and Mason Keller; brothers, Ronald (Edna) Keller and Darin (Nancy) Keller. Predeceased by his parents and brother, Ken Keller. Special thanks to Darwin and Will, fellow officials for their outpouring support. The family wishes to thank the staff at OSF Hospice.

Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Monday, September 28, 2020, in St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Ave., Loves Park. Inurnment at a later date in St. Mary's Cemetery, Richardton, N.D. Walk through visitation with face coverings and social distancing required from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, September 27, 2020, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
