Friends and Family will gather to celebrate his life with a Graveside service at 2:00PM on Friday, February 18, 2022, at the Andrews North Cemetery with Pastor Benny Johnson officiating. Pallbearers will include Benny Johnson, Travis Johnson, Jhett Long, Owen Long and Wyatt Buckner. Viewing and visitation will be on Thursday, February 17, 2022, from 6:00PM 8:00PM at McNett Funeral Home in Andrews, Texas. Arrangements are under the personal care of McNett Funeral Home.
Harvey was born on August 2, 1956, in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Harvey G. Long and Wilma L. Simmons.
He graduated from Roswell High School in 1974, and then went on to marry his wife Kathy Hubbard in 1975. He loved his boys and spending time with them. He also enjoyed going to his grandkids activities. He enjoyed going to the rodeo and watching ropings. He also loved watching old westerns like Gunsmoke. Harvey enjoyed traveling, especially when he drove his truck.
Harvey was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather. He was a selfless person who was always willing to go wherever he needed and help in any way he had to. He just wanted his loved ones to be taken care of and be happy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Wilma Long; His wife Kathy Long; His sister Gloria Wilson; And Brothers Wayne and David Long.
He is survived by his sisters Karen Hudson of Roswell, New Mexico and Diane Clements and husband Jimmy of Roswell, New Mexico; Sons Loran Long and wife Amy of Greenwood, Texas; Brandon Long and wife Christa of Early, Texas and Jared Long and wife Amber of Universal City, Texas. And Grandchildren Jhett, Owen, Macallister, Isla, Aniston, Caysa and Turner Long.
