Veterans (sic) Dies While Speaking To His Wife
F. M. Chandler Died While Discussing a Meeting of Confederate Veterans That Was to Be Held.

While conversing pleasingly with his wife and other members of his family, F. M. Chandler, a Confederate veteran, 71 years of age, dropped dead about 9 o'clock Sunday evening at his residence, 56 East Twelfth street.
Mr. Chandler was a well known member of Camp 159, U.C.V. He appeared to be in unusually bright spirits Sunday afternoon and evening and after supper spent some time talking with his wife and children. He had just referred with apparent pleasure to his intention of attending the meeting of the veterans' camp to be held Monday evening when his head was seen to fall forward upon his chest as he gasped for breath. Members of his family quickly ran to his side and medical aid was hurriedly summoned. However, Mr. Chandler was dead before a physician arrived. Heart failure is supposed to have been the cause of death.
Surviving Mr. Chandler are his wife and three children. Funeral arrangements will be decided upon later.
