Paul Alfred Robbins was born on October 25, 1917, in Jennings County, Indiana. He was the son of Harry S and Gertrude Dart Robbins.

In the 1920 Federal census, his parents were listed as living with paternal grandmother Emma Robbins in Hickory Grove, Benton County, Indiana. Paul Robbins was not listed in the census. There is a Paul Dart, aged 1, living with his grandparents John A and Arbelle Dart in Marion, Jennings County, Indiana.

It is known that Harry and Gertrude Robbins had divorced before 1930. Gertrude had remarried to John W. Allen; and Harry Robbins had married in 1927 to Mary Gladys Brand.

In the 1930 Federal census, Paul and Virginia Robbins were listed living with their maternal grandparents, John A and Arbelle Dart in Marion, Jennings County, Indiana.

Paul Alfard Robbins registered for the World War II draft on October 16, 1940. He was working for his grandfather, John A Dart in Crothersville, Indiana. On February 9, 1942, Paul A Robbins enlisted in the U.S. Army at Fort Benjamin Harrison, entering as a private. He may have served until 1945.

On December 8, 1951, Paul Robbins and Alberta Davidson were married in Indiana.

Paul Alfred Robbins, 89, of Austin, Indiana, passed away Monday, September 17, 2007, at his residence.

He served in the U.S. Army as a Sgt. in World War II.

He retired from Morgan Foods Inc. in Austin, Indiana.

Survivors include a daughter of Austin, Indiana; another daughter of Scottsburg, Indiana; one son of Austin, Indiana; and another son of Underwood, Indiana. Two sisters, one living in Aberdeen, Ohio; and another living in Georgetown, Ohio, survived. Eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survived.

Paul Robbins was preceded in death by his wife Alberta Robbins.

Military graveside service will be conducted by the Crothersville VFW Post 1083.
