An outdoor memorial service for Elsie K. Mapp, 71, of Bradley, former resident of Slovang from 1962 to 1980, will be conducted on the grounds of the Mapp residence in Bradley on Lake Nacimiento Road, Saturday, June 10 at 2 p.m. Mrs. Mapp died last Monday at her home in Bradley. She was born June 27, 1918 near Whittier. Mrs. Mapp was affiliated for many years with the Southern Baptist Church in this area and often assisted there in playing the organ or piano at services. She graduated in 1942 from Biola College with a degree in Christian Education Mr. and Mrs. Mapp are known to a wide circle of friends in the Santa Ynez Valley. She is survived by her husband Charles Mapp of Bradley; her daughter, Dale Grace Oftebro of Santa Barbara and three grandchildren. (Santa Ynez Valley News, CA; Thu Jun 1, 1989, p.13)
