FORMER HOTEL OFFICIAL DIES
Alexander Walker Jordan, 69, of 1316 Virginia Street E, died yesterday in a Charleston hospital. He had lived here since 1936.
Mr. Jordan was a hotel official until his retirement in 1953. At the time of his death he was serving as director of the Empire Savings and Loan Association of Charleston. He was a member of the Jenkins, Kentucky, Masonic Lodge, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and a member of Beni Kedem Shrine temple and a Presbyterian.
Surviving: wife, Julia; daughters, Mrs. R. D. Watts Jr. of Illinois, Mrs. Jack Burger of Holly Hill, Florida; son, Dr. A. W. Jr. of Strasburg, Virginia; stepson, Henry Hoffman of Farmville, Virginia; stepdaughter, Mrs. Janet Murphy of Concord, North Carolina; sisters, Miss Marguerite of Stamford, Connecticut, Mrs. W. F. MacFarlane of Florence, Alabama; five grandchildren.
Service will be held tomorrow at 4 p.m. in Barlow-Bonsall Funeral Home by the Rev. Dr. William A. Benfield Jr. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
