Ira Adkins
Ira Raymond Adkins of Tuolumne died yesterday in a local hospital. He was 71.
Mr. Adkins was a native of Missouri and last worked as a watchman for the West Side Lumber Company in Tuolumne.
He had lived in the county 13 years, in California 33 years.
Mr. Adkins is survived by his wife, Lorene, of Tuolumne; two sons, Jack, of San Jose, and Alva, of Montana; two daughters, Mildred Mello of Palo Alto and Hazel Reise of Tuolumne; one sister, Marie Coulter of Illinois; two brothers, Bob Adkins of Twain Harte and Jake Adkins of Iowa; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Tuolumne Twain Harte Chapel of Terzich-Wilson Funeral Home. Interment will be in Carter's Cemetery.
