Samuel Benteon Mundy, 61, died Wednesday, October 26, 1977 in the McKay-Dee Hospital.
Mr. Mundy was born February 1, 1916 in Elkhart, Kansas, a son of Samuel P. and Nora B. Burgess Mundy. He was married to Dale Williams on December 19, 1938 in Pleasant Grove, Utah. The marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on February 5, 1965.
He was a retired deputy chief of production planning and management division at Hill Air Force Base and had received numerous outstanding performance awards.
He was a high priest in the Ogden 41st LDS Ward and had served as the first assistant group leader in the high priest quorum. He had been general secretary of the senior Aaronic group and was a home teacher.
He was a retired captain in the 907th Transportation Crops in Utah, and served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He had been a commanding officer in the Civilian Conservation Corps.
Surviving are his widow of Ogden; two daughters, Mrs. Benita M. Christensen, Monticello, Utah; Mrs. Patricia D. Badger, Ogden; six grandchildren; one brother, Earl Mundy, Sedan, Kansas.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in the Ogden 41st Ward Chapel, 3254 Polk, with Bishop Jay Bachman officiating. Interment in the Aultorest Memorial Park.
