Ronnie McGough, 78, of Niles, formerly of Berrien Springs, passed away August 25, 2020, surrounded by his family.

Ron was born in Trumann, Arkansas on November 23, 1941 to Charles McGough and Kathryn Loggains. On December 28, 1970 he married Shirley Ann Baker, and together they raised six kids. Ron served in the United States Marine Corps from 1959 until 1963. He served in the Army from 1964 until 1968. Ron proudly served in Vietnam, and he retired from the National Guard. He was a member of the DAV and a Lifetime Member of the NRA.

In 2000, Ron retired from Bosch Braking Systems in St Joseph, Michigan. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and a marksman of the M16. He had many other hobbies and received many awards over his lifetime, including the Governor’s Twenty marksmanship award.

Ron leaves to cherish his memory his wife of almost 50 years, Shirley Ann McGough; their kids--Stanley (Dawn) Baker, Jerry Scott, Jeff (Julie) Scott, Charles Scott, Verlona (John) Lewis, Amanda (Tony) Cao; grandkids--Samantha (Willie) Hannan, Staci Scott, Cameron Baker, Jennifer Scott, Jeremy (Ally) Scott, Derek Scott, Eric Scott, Ryan Scott, Corina (Gage) Plaugher, Darien Scott, Skyler Scott, Jessica Lewis, Jazmyne Lewis, and John Lewis lV; and 13 great-grandkids. He is also survived by his brothers, Michael (Renee) Manry and Terry Manry; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death are his dad, Charles McGough; stepdad, Alvin Manry; brother, Larry Manry; grandson, Stephan Charles McGough; and mom, Kathryn Manry on June 16, 2020.
