Obituary
On March 29, 2011, Sheila passed away peacefully at the Dauphin Personal Care Home in her 95th year.
She was predeceased by her husband Andrew, daughter Dorothy Jacob, infant son Andrew, infant twins Keith and Kathy.
She is survived by her children; Daphne (Arnold) Nesdoly, Donald (Cindy) Stewart, Margaret (Russell) Yakubchak, and Duncan Stewart (partner Donna). Also surviving are 12 grandchildren; Rene Jacob (partner Lee), Cory (Vicki) Jacob, Calvin (Brizzia) Nesdoly, Kevin (Julie) Nesdoly, Orrin (Laurie) Nesdoly, Darcy Yakubchak, Cara Yakubchak, Cole Stewart, Curtis Bouvier, Jordan Stewart, Jessie Stewart and Andrew Stewart.
She also has nine great grandchildren; Taylor, Alex, Niko, Natajsha, Devon, Trent, Abbie, Katya and Matthew Nesdoly.
Also surviving is her brother Jim (Maisie) Rannie, two brothers-in-law, Gordon and Norman Stewart, and two sisters-in-law, Bonnie Stewart and Luciene Stewart.
Sheila was born in Binscarth, Manitoba, and grew up on the farm in the Lidcliffe district, where she completed Grade 11 schooling. She went to Business College in Winnipeg, and then went to work as a stenographer for Manitoba Telephone System.
She married Andrew Stewart on November 10, 1945, and they farmed in the Endcliffe district, moving to Russell in 1956, and then to Dauphin in 1966. Sheila was always active and involved in her community. She taught 4-H Crafts, and was a member of the Womenís Institute, the Horticultural Society, the Pottery Club, and the Art Club. She loved her garden and enjoyed doing flower arranging, and always offered warm hospitality to any who dropped by for a visit.
A memorial celebration of her life was held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 2, 2011, at Riverside Evergreen Chapel, in Dauphin Manitoba, with Rev.
Larry McPhail officiating. Barbara Durston was the accompanying organist. Daphne Nesdoly delivered the eulogy, and read a poem. Interment followed at 4:00 p.m. at Binscarth Cemetery in Binscarth, Manitoba.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Sheilaís memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
