Marguerite Dale Roe Garcie, of Frierson, Louisiana passed away on Friday, September 25, 2020 at the age of 76. She was born May 28, 1944 in Natchitoches, Louisiana to Ellis Samuel Roe and Bernice Doolittle Brock.
Dale was an avid church-goer who put her faith and family above all else. She was a gifted storyteller, amateur humorist and exceptional toast-giver. Dale was always up for a good old-fashioned get together. She enjoyed a good joke and even better company. Her interests were experiences and her hobbies were making memories.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Dr. Renese Garcie; two grandsons, Garrett Reed and wife Brooke and Linden Reed and wife Christy; a granddaughter, Mariah Burns and husband David; two great-grandchildren, Raven Reed and Archer Burns; two sisters, Ann DeFriend and Joy McQueary; two half-brothers, Reggie and Sam Roe; a half-sister, Rita McGuire; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Toni Rae Anderson; son, John Dale Garcie; and her parents. A visitation will be held Thursday, October 1, 2020 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Rd, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108. A funeral serivce will occur following the visitation on Thursday at 1:00 PM with interment in Centuries Memorial Park. Officiating the services will be Pastor Mel Campbell. At approximately 3:30 PM there will be a celebration and fellowship at Frierson Baptist Church, which all are invited to attend, especially those who cannot attend the services. Honoring her as pallbearers will be Garrett Reed, Linden Reed, Wayne Barnes, Jim Kittler, Charlie Hawthorne and William Fatherree.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Gideons International or to Frierson Baptist Church in Dale’s name.
