James "Jimmy" Ivan Carter was born in Decatur, Texas on May 14, 1938, to his parents, Roy and Lorene, and returned to the arms of our of our loving Lord and Savior on December 18, 2015, in Fort Worth, Texas. Jimmy met his wife, Diane, in 1964 and proposed marriage that year. Diane and Jimmy did not marry at that time, but were re-united and married December 7, 1996, at her parents' home in Fort Worth, Texas. He served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1967 as a Staff Sergeant in Thialand. Upon coming back to the States, Jimmy learned the trade on iron work from his uncle. He was a member of the Iron Workers Union of America for 41 years. His passion was coon hunting, but enjoyed all outdoor recreations. He was an expert marksman with both a bow and a rifle.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Diane Carter, of Azle, Texas, his brother-in-law, Sonny Monk, of Gilmer, Texas, his grandson, Wes Wigley, of Azle, Texas, his grandson, Michael Graves, of Azle, Texas, his granddaughter, Heather Campbell, of Azle, Texas, his granddaughter, Aletha Hoffman, of Azle, Texas, his grandson, Doug Shores, of Azle, Texas, and his grandson, Josh Carter, of Azle, Texas, along with countless friends.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Lorene, and his cousins, Gary Goree and Karen Goree Reed
A visitation service will be held from 2:00-3:00 PM, and funeral services will begin at 3:00 PM at Azleland Chapel, in Azle, Texas on Wednesday, December 30, 2015.
Jimmy will be truly and deeply missed, but never forgotten, as we will always hold him dearly in our hearts.

Jimmy graduated from Stamford High School in 1957.
