Pauline was called home to her Lord on Sunday morning, August 16, 2020, with her family by her side, while under the care of Hoyt Nursing and Rehab. She was 90 years old.
Pauline Georgia (Flohr) Winterstein was born on May 9, 1930, in Flint, Michigan, daughter of the late Ernest and Eva (Krapohl) Flohr. She was married to Roger C. Winterstein on February 7, 1959, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, and he survives her.
She is also survived by her two daughters and three grandchildren; her loyal dog, Biscuit; her nieces and nephews, and also many other loving extended family and dear friends. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Hoyt Nursing and Rehab for Pauline's loving care over the past 3.5 years.
Pauline was also predeceased by her sister, Arlene (Muylle) Pawley; and brothers, Paul Flohr and George Flohr; sister and brother-in-laws; and mother and father in-law, Christopher and Lydia (Schultz) Winterstein. Prior to her retirement, Pauline was employed as an Office Manager for the Saginaw County Friend of the Court. When her daughters were born, she was thankful to stay at home, caring for them and participating in their activities. She volunteered at the Hospice Office, Voluntary Action Center, Holy Cross Lutheran School, and visited shut-ins from Holy Cross Lutheran Church for 20 years, where she was a member. She enjoyed her flower garden, knitting, crafts, sewing, and traveling. Pauline loved spending time with her loving husband, Roger; her daughters and grandchildren; and her dog, Biscuit. The Celebration of Pauline’s Life will be held 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 19, 2020, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 600 Court St., Saginaw, MI. The Rev. William W. Hessler will officiate. Pauline will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the church on Tuesday, August 18th from 2:00 to 6:00 pm, then again at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of her service. Those wishing to express their sympathies are asked to consider memorial contributions to Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Memories and sympathies of Pauline may be shared with the family on her memorial website at WakemanFuneralHome.com
