Perry Clevenger and his wife are dead as a result of what the police believe to have been a murder and suicide at 600 Asylum avenue, late Thursday afternoon...The difficulty which lead to the tragedy is said to have had its origin over the manner in which Perry Clevenger conducted a soft drink stand at 608 Asylum avenue, permitting the gathering of women there and selling whisky. Protests of the wife, made to police headquarters, resulted in a police raid on the soft drink stand and led to the arrest of Clevenger, and his brother...and two women about one hour preceeding the killing...
