On this day, Monday, June 13, 2005, our beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother, left this life to be with her husband, father, mother, brother and sister. For those of us she left behind our hearts are filled with pain and grief and now only memories of her will make the days pass and heal our hearts.
Ula was born on July 24, 1922 in rural Panama, Iowa, the daughter of Richard "Swede" and Maude (Wadsworth) Larson. Ula grew up in Iowa and graduated from Harlan High School on May 23, 1940. She was united in marriage on August 30, 1942 to the love of her life, Franklin H. Schuemann of Avoca, Iowa. In 1956, they moved to Aurora, Illinois where they spent many happy years and raised four children together until the passing of her beloved husband on September 26, 1970. Over the years, Ula worked at Furgeson Lander and Western Electric but enjoyed work most when she co-owed and operated Mujula Furniture Store in Oak Forest, Illinois until her retirement and then moved to Utica, Illinois. Ula will be lovingly remembered for her quick wit and sense of humor. She most enjoyed spending time with her family and loved to cook for them.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory her three daughters, Sharon Riley of Oak Forest, Illinois, Karla Tschannen and Robyn Stout of Somonauk, Illinois and one son, Frank. Also, her three son in laws whom she always called her sons, Thomas Riley, Steven Tschannen Sr. and William Stout Sr. Ula was the loving grandmother of Deborah (Doug) Kelley, Tammy Riley, Theresa (Keith) Huckaby, Steven (Eugenia) Tschannen Jr, William (Marcie) Stout Jr., Michelle (Thomas) Lawson, as well as loving great-grandmother to William, Patsy, Michael, Lacey, Kyle, Kevin, Alexander, Steven and Colton. She is survived by her brother, Duane (Virginia) Larson and her cousin, Della (Wayne) Nelson of Hartley, Iowa who was always regarded as her sister and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She now joins her husband, Frank also preceding her is her parents, Richard and Maude Larson, her brother Louis, and a sister Laura Pederson.
