Son of Benjamin Stone and Hannah (Corliss). Husband of Lurena (Pond), whom he married on April 24, 1822 in Berkshire, Vermont.

On May 26, 1878, at the age of 75, he officiated the 2nd marriage of his daughter Hannah F. (Stone) Atwell to Alexander Bogne in Glover, Vermont.
