Aaliyah Arnita Brown was born July 29, 1999, in Kansas City, MO. She is the daughter of Sheene Brown and Michael Jackson. Aaliyah graduated from Staley High School in 2017. She went on to become a Certified Nursing Assistant and a Certified Med Aide. Aaliyah was employed by The Gardens of Barry Road in Kansas City, Missouri for almost two years Aaliyah was a hardworking young woman with a strong work ethic. She had a passion for music, a gifted musician, loved babies and small children, and hanging out with friends. Aaliyah excelled academically and strongly encouraged her siblings to do likewise. She helped raised her younger siblings and insisting that they stay on track. Aaliyah was a lifelong member of Humphrey Temple COGIC in Liberty, MO under the leadership of Pastor Buford Butler. She participated in the Sunday School, Youth, and the Music departments. Aaliyah was also active in many District and Jurisdictional activities. She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Alberta Gaterson and Steven Shelby, Howard Brown and a very special cousin, DeAndrea Vine-Nelson. She leaves to cherish her memories: her mother, Sheene Brown; her Mutti (Derrick Johnson, Jr.); father, Michael Jackson; siblings, Kaylin, Armani, Derrick III, Josiah (on the way), Desean, Jaylin, Delorean, Miccah, Kedra, and Cadon; grandparents, Norman Brown Sr. and Linda Brown, Bernice Jackson; great-grandparents, Sadie Shelby, Lena Rose; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. Services for Ms. Brown will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 21, 2019, at Martin Temple C.O.G.I.C. Burial XII Gates Memorial Gardens. Friends may call for 9:00 A.M. until Service time Saturday at the church.
