She married Fred Lee Evans on November 4, 1922. In June of 1923, Fred drowned while helping Margaret's family evacuate their farm during a flood of the nearby Salt Fork River. Their son was born shortly after his father's death.
On October 19, 1925, Margaret married Ernest Richardson. They settled in Griffith, Indiana, and added two daughters to their family. Margaret owned a dress shop in nearby North Judson. Margaret and Ernest later moved to Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Margaret was survived by her husband and three children, as well as several grandchildren. Siblings Emory, William, Orlin and Florence survived her as well.
