Clarine C. Holmes Bisch, 88, of Mankato, MN, died Friday, October, 2, 2020, in hospice at Ecumen Pathstone Living.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at 12 noon at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, in Mankato. Visitation 2 hours prior at the church. Clarine has donated her body to the U of M Anatomy Bequest Program, therefore; a private burial will be held at a later date. Northview – North Mankato Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Clarine was born on March 20, 1932, in Waseca to Leo and Regina (Mulcahy) Holmes. She graduated from Loyola High School in 1950. After graduation she worked at Piggly Wiggly and Mankato Electric. On October 20, 1956, she was united in marriage to Allie Bisch at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mankato. She was a homemaker, and enjoyed volunteering; for Meals on Wheels, Girl Scouts, at St. John's the Baptist Church, and a variety of activities in the catholic schools. When the girls were in their teens, she went back to work at Mankato Answering Service.
Clarine was an avid card player, who loved the cards, friendships, and desserts. She enjoyed hosting coffee parties and family gatherings, especially Thanksgiving. For many years she hosted the Bisch family 4th of July campout. In their younger years Clarine and Allie spent many Saturday nights dancing at the Kato Ballroom. She enjoyed traveling and camping with family and friends. She did all these things despite having rheumatoid arthritis since the age of 18.
She is survived by her 3 daughters; Barb (Tim) Wendlandt of Garden City, and their children Andrew (Pam) Wendlandt, Brandon (Erica) Wendlandt, Rachel Wendlandt, and Sarah Wendlandt; daughter, Bonnie (Dennis) Steel of Mankato and their children, Megan (Matthew) Sieberg and Melissa Steel; daughter, Carri Lynn (Greg) Borchert of St. Peter and their children, Brett (Sarah) Borchert and Heather Borchert; great grandchildren, Zoey and Will Wendlandt, Wyatt Wendlandt, and Winston Borchert.
Clarine was preceded in death by her husband, Allie; her brother, Earl Holmes; infant granddaughter, Erica Borchert.
Memorials may be given to donor's choice in lieu of flowers.
