Kay Anne (Martin) Blackburn, 51, of The Plains, Oh., died Thursday, January 20, 2000, following a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Born January 11, 1949 in Columbus, Oh. She was a U.S. Navy veteran and a graduate of Hocking College and Ohio University. She was employed by Hocking College as an Education Specialist. Kay was a warm, vibrant woman with a passion for cruise ships and trips to Las Vegas. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Terry Blackburn; daughter, Sheri Lynch (Jeff), Lancaster, Oh.; son, Andy Blackburn (Karen), Sugar Grove, Oh.; sister, Judy Dunnick, Lakeland, Fla.; brother, Howard "Binx" Martin, Columbus, Oh.; aunts, Mary Lou Kauffman (Al), Columbus, Oh., Helen Dearth, Pickerington, Oh.; mother-in-law, Ruby Dawson, Holden Beach, N.C.; father-in-law, Charles V. Blackburn, Littleton, N.C; brothers-in-law, Tim Blackburn (Linda), Littleton, N.C., Mark Blackburn (Donna), Wilmington, N.C.; granddaughters, Jessica and Cassidi Lynch, Lancaster, Oh.; many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Howard "Bud" Martin and June (Dearth) Delauder and her brother Randy Martin. Friends are invited to call at the JAGERS AND SONS FUNERAL HOME, 24 Morris Ave., Athens, Oh. from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., where service will be held on 2 p.m. Sunday with Rev. Bill Hixson officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be brothers of Theta Chi Fraternity. Following cremation, a private graveside service will be held at the West Union Street Cemetery at a later date. At Kay's request, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Appalachian Community Hospice, 280 East State St., Athens, Oh. 45701
