Edna Estelle Morse Leake, was called home by the Lord on February 10, 2006. A resident of Richmond, Va. She was born in York County, Va. November 22, 1913. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Alan Mosby Leake; her parents, Pearl Sparrer Morse and George E. Morse; and brother, George H. Morse. Survivors include her children, Lorna Mosby Leake and David Morse Leake; three sisters, Sarah Morse Snyder, Mary Morse Johnson, and her husband, Earl Johnson, Hazel Morse Manasco and her husband, George Manasco; a brother, Dr. William H. Morse and his wife, Patricia W. Morse; sister-in-law, Janice Morse Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Leake, was a graduate of Richmond Professional Institute with a Master's of Science in Education. She worked for Henrico County Schools as a special education teacher and at Virginia Commonwealth University as a counselor. When she retired, she was a hospice volunteer at Retreat Hospital and for the Walk-in Ministry at Centenary United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the Central Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 3215 Cutshaw Avenue, Tuesday, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday in Riverview Cemetery, followed by a 1 p.m. memorial service at Centenary United Methodist Church. A donation may be made in her memory to Centenary United Methodist Church, 411 East Grace Street, Richmond, Va. 23219.
