son of Georg Kochersperger and of Catharina, nee Eyer, spelling of name changed to Cogansparger/Kokensparger due to misunderstanding and illiteracy. Served with the 141st Infantry Regiment, Company C, Pennsylvania Volunteers, was killed at the Battle of Gettysburg on the 2nd July 1863

no grave is known to exist, most likely was interred in one of the massgraves on the battlefield
