This morning L. Marx, recorder for the Select Knights, paid to Mrs. W. P. Totten nine hundred dollars insurance on the life of her husband, who died last Thanksgiving day. At the time of her husband's death she was paid $100, which was the amount of a total disability clause. That together with the $900 paid this morning covered the total amount of the policy on the life of the deceased.

Notes:
In the 1900 census in Galena, William had a wife, Dolly [Brewer] to whom he was married in 1884. They had children, Minnie born April 1886 in Kansas, Arthur born November 1887 in Kansas, and Carrie born June 1882 in Kansas.

After William's death, Dolly married Henry H. Gist in Carthage, Missouri, in 1902.

Her last marriage was to David Weddle in November 1913 in Arthur, Vernon County, Missouri.

Dolly's grandson, Earl McGuire, informed her death certificate in 1949.

Dolly's parents were Robert Wilson Brewer and Mary Jane Hanna. It should be noted that Shirley Belle (Totten) McGuire is most likely "Carrie" Totten, most likely born in 1892 rather than 1882.
