Roger Earl Altmeyer Sr., 76, of Troy, Illinois and formerly of St. Charles, Missouri passed away at 7:04 p.m. on Monday, October 5, 2020 at his home.

He was born October 20, 1943 in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of the late Earl Joseph and Mildred Cleon (Elmore) Altmeyer.

He married Josephine “Josie” (Santangelo) Altmeyer on May 5, 1994 in Las Vegas, Nevada and she passed away on June 12, 2020.

Roger had worked with United States Postal Service with 15 year of service as a postal carrier and followed by a 25 year career as a life insurance agent.

He proudly served his country with the United States Navy and always kept up on the world events, always enjoyed politics and history and was a true caring supporter of President Trump. Roger had a love of bowling throughout the years and also enjoyed the horse races and stock market. He had a love for his Mustang and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his family and friends.

He is survived by three children and spouses, Pamela Rose Smith of New Douglas, Christine Ann and Randy Feltmeyer of Troy and Roger Earl Jr. and his nurse, Theresa Altmeyer of New Douglas; two stepdaughters and spouse, Tammy Lynn Lopez of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Jill Marie and Jerry Symmonds of O’Fallon, Missouri; fifteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; other extended family and many friends.

In addition to his cherished wife of 26 years and parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Rogie Altmeyer.

In celebration of his life, a memorial visitation will be at Gateway Family Church, 97 Oaklawn Road in Glen Carbon, Illinois on Saturday, October 17, 2020 from 12:00 noon until time of memorial service at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Greg Morrison officiating.
