Josephine B. (Hammett) Graf, 100, died Monday night, July 2, at Providence Retirement Home in New Albany, IN. A native of New Albany, IN, she was the widow of Herman Graf who preceded her in death in 1956.

Jo was a retired saleslady with The Fair Store in New Albany, IN. She was a member of St. Joseph Hill Catholic Church in Sellersburg, IN. Josephine quilted for the St. Joe Hill Quilters and was a member of the Sellersburg Senior Citizens' group.

Josephine was born on November 19, 1906 to the late James and Catherine (Georg) Hammett. She was also preceded in death by her four brothers, Albert, Marquis, Edwin and James Hammett and her sister Mary Henderson.

She is survived by two daughters, Juanita C. Popp (James) of Bennettsville, IN and Virginia L. Townsend (Don), of Sellersburg, IN; a son, Theodore L. Graf (Marcella), of Bennettsville, IN; 12 grandchildren; Randy, Rick & Ray Graf, Becky Mayfield, Donna Jackson, Diane Graf, Mary Lou Adams, Alan Popp, Laura Frey, Judy Popp, Gerry & Greg Townsend; 28 great grandchildren; and 5 great great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 11 to 8 PM Thursday, July 5, and after 9AM Friday, July 6, at Generations Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana) with a rosary service at 4 PM Thursday. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM Friday at St. Joseph Hill Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Kosair Childrens Hospital.
