Daughter of Henry Thomas Adnitt and Emily Branston who were married on the 28th March 1910 at All Saints Church, Lilbourne, Northamptonshire. Doris' father and her husband were first cousins.

She was baptized on the 11th September 1910 at All Saints Church, Lilbourne, Northamptonshire.

Doris married Doris Thomas William Adnitt at the Parish Church, Rugby, Warwickshire on the 26th September 1931.

A very pretty wedding took place at the Parish Church, Rugby, on Saturday last, between Miss Doris Adnitt, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. T. Adnitt, of 99, Abbey Street, Rugby, and Mr. Thomas Adnitt, only son of Mr. and Mrs. F. Adnitt, of Brinklow. The Rev. C. Casson officiated.

The bride wore a dress of white crepe de chine trimmed with lace and was given away by her father. She was attended by four bridesmaids. Mr. Harry Treen, of Brinklow (brother in law of the bridegroom) was the best man.

After the ceremony a reception was held at the Imperial Hotel, where 130 guests assembled. The bride and bridegroom were the recipients of many useful presents. A peel of bells was rung at Brinklow Church to mark the occasion.

Doris and Thomas' son, Frederick, known as "Tommy" died at the Hospital of St. Cross, Rugby, on the 3rd July 1936 aged just 10 months.

The 1939 England and Wales Register shows that Thomas and Doris lived with their children at Dockyard, Brinklow, and the Thomas was employed as a surface grinder.

Their son, David died at home, 9, Broad Street, Brinklow, on the 10th February 1953 aged just 4 years. Then six months later on 8th September their youngest daughter Sheila died at Keresley Hospital, Coventry, she aged 15 years and 11 months. Because of an accident when she was a baby, Sheila had been an invalid all her life. The Rev. C. R. Canham officiated at both funerals.

Doris' mother Emily, was living with her and Thomas at the time of her death in 1967, her father had died at the Hospital of St. Cross, Rugby, in 1963.

Doris died aged 82.
Resting with Thomas who died in 1989 aged 83.
They rest together deside their children, David, Sheila and Tommy.
At the time of their deaths, Doris and Thomas were still living at 9, Broad Street, Brinklow.
