She was born March 22, 1926, in Trimble County, Ky., the daughter of Earl and Bessie Mae Hewitt Stockdale. She was a retired employee of Teledyne Packaging Co. in Carrollton and was a member of Carrollton United Pentecostal Church.
Surviving are her husband, James S. Shields ;one daughter, Jean Finney of Duluth, Minn.; two sons, Jim Shields of Bedford Ky., and Steven Shields of Carrollton; four sisters, Juanita Hawkins and Laverne Evans, both of Campbellsburg, Ky., Julia Jackson of Madison and Ruby Davis of Petersburg; two brothers, Edwin Stockdale of Louisville, Ky., and Herbert Stockdale of Monroe, Ala.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Wanda Jean Pyles; and one great-grandson.
Services were at Carrollton United Pentecostal Church, with burial in the Bedford IOOF Cemetery.
