Marie V. (O’Sullivan) Glynn, 87, passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounded by family on September 28, 2018. Marie was the beloved wife of 48 years to Herbert J. Glynn who passed away in 2009. Marie is survived by her four children, Michael Glynn and his wife Patricia of Wayland; Kevin Glynn and his wife Rebecca of Stamford, CT; Marianne Kearney of Northborough; Richard Glynn and his wife Suzanne of Holliston; ten beloved grandchildren: Ryan, Matthew, William, Monica, Kathryn, Joseph, Alexia, Kayla, Bridget and Abigail. Marie was born in Boston, a daughter to the late John and Helen (Sheehan) O’Sullivan and sister to Mary Theresa (deceased), John (deceased) and Lawrence of Dedham. Marie also leaves a lifelong friend, Gloria Pomelli, whom she thought of as a sister. She is survived by three sisters-in-law, Mary T. Michaels, Joan Holzman, and Joan O’Sullivan; brother-in-law Ronald Holzman; and many nieces and nephews.
Marie attended Jamaica Plain HS, Class of 1948 and worked several years in the secretarial field. Together Marie and Herb raised their four children in Westwood and remained there for 37 years before relocating to Northborough in 2003. In 2014, Marie moved to The Willows Retirement Community in Westborough where she developed devoted friendships. Most recently this summer, she moved to Coleman House Assisted Living.
Marie was dedicated to her Catholic faith and devoted herself to being a loving mother to her children and was proud of her grandchildren. She was kind and compassionate; her laughter and smile were contagious to those around her. She enjoyed socializing and looked forward to time well spent with family and friends.
Calling hours will be held from 4-7pm on Tuesday, October 2, at Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main Street, Northborough. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am on Wednesday, October 3 at St. Bernadette Parish, 266 Main Street, Northborough. Burial will follow in Howard Street Cemetery, Northborough. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Bernadette Parish.
