Former Harrison County Second District Commissioner Jesse W. Martin died Monday, April 26, at Indian Creek Health and Rehabilitation Center in Corydon.

He was a commissioner from 1972 to 1976 and served as county assessor from 1979 to 1987.

He was a former employee for the Harrison County Highway Dept. and a member of Laborers International Union Local 795, a farmer and a member of Harrison Avenue Christian Church.

Martin was born June 4, 1912, in Spencer County, Ky., the son of the late A.I. and Isophene Redden Martin.

Survivors include his wife, the former F. Eileen Fravel; a stepson, David D. Heishman of Georgetown; a stepdaughter, Bonnie McKim of Corydon, and five grandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 28, after 8 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.

The funeral is Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Mark Horton will officiate. Jean Hess was the organist.
