Martin Edward “Ted” O’Mealey, 81, passed away gently on Thursday, July 27, 2017, with his devoted wife of 57 years, Louise (Cuttle) O’Mealey, by his side. Ted was born in Leominster on May 31, 1936, son to the late Martin F. and Marguerite (Gillooley) O’Mealey. He attended Leominster Public Schools prior to earning a BS in Education from Fitchburg State College. Ted was a dedicated educator, teaching at Berlin Memorial School for 35 years. During this time he continued his own education at FSC, earning a Master’s Degree in Education and subsequently, a second Master’s Degree from the University of Connecticut.
In addition to his wife Louise, Ted leaves one son, Michael O’Mealey and his wife Katherine of Franklin, as well as two granddaughters, Kaitlin and Abigail.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, August 5, 2017, in St. Rose of Lima Parish, 244 W. Main Street, Northborough. Burial will follow in Howard Street Cemetery, Northborough. Please omit flowers; instead, consider making a donation in Ted’s name to Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472. Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main Street, Northborough is assisting the O’Mealey Family with all arrangements.
