The funeral will be on Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St., Nutley, N.J, www.swbrownandson.com. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church, Nutley, at 9:30 a.m. The interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Montclair, N.J. Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Rosalie was born in Newark, N.J. She was a Nutley resident for 21 years before moving to Gouldsboro, Pa., after her retirement. A graduate of North East Secretarial School, she worked as a secretary for the Veterans Affairs Department at Camp Kilmer, the Veterans Affairs Department in Newark and the East Orange V.A. Hospital.
After raising her children, she owned and operated Modernaire Heating and Air Conditioning Co. in Nutley with her husband. In Gouldsboro, she was an active member of St. Rita's Church and a member of the budget committee of the Pocono Springs Civic Association. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and cooking for her family.
She also spent the recent years in Maine visiting with her daughter. The beloved wife of the late Samuel M. Bernardo, she is survived by her three daughters, Renee Nodar, Karen Mangravito, and Sharon Wright and her husband, Donald. She also leaves behind six grandchildren, Henry, Samuel, Gina, Janelle, Robert, and Michael Samuel; and three great-grandchildren, Matthew, Nathan, and Isabel Mina. Rosalie will be greatly missed.
