Anthony “Neno” Kayrouz, 81, of Louisville passed away Saturday, October 10, 2020 at his home.
Neno was a member of Hillsdale Baptist Church. He was retired from Ford Motor Company LAP. He and Annis were the former owners of the Coffee Pot in Dixie Manor. He worked the gate at Ohio Valley Dragway for 36 years. Neno was an avid Mopar enthusiast. He also enjoyed restoring old Packards. His recent restoration was a 1964 Plymouth Hemi Belvedere. He was a Navy Veteran where he was on the USS Edisto AGB-2 where he passed the gateway to the top of the world by crossing the Arctic CIrcle. He was a member of the KYANA Antique Car
Club and also the KDRA where he was inducted into the KDRA Hall of Fame. Neno enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed watching the Price is Right and he and Annis would watch Wheel of
Fortune to see who could guess the most puzzles. He was friends with many who he considered extended family and he never met a stranger.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Mattie (Lucas) Kayrouz; a sister, Betty Norman.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Annis Evelyn (Swint); three children, Melanie Ann Kayrouz, John Anthony Kayrouz (Andrea) and Tiffany Nicole Kayrouz; four brothers, Michael Kayrouz (Peggy), Jerry Kayrouz, Gary Wayne Kayrouz (Debbie) and Terry Kayrouz (Linda); four grandchildren, Kyle, Megan, Brennden and Rylie.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Owen Funeral Home 5317 Dixie Hwy. with burial in Beth Haven Cemetery.
