Mr. Bruce Allen Bell, age 76, of Madison, Indiana, entered this life on October 17, 1930 in Jefferson County, Indiana, near the Hanover Community, the son of Albert Otto & Helen Martha Bruce Bell, both of whom preceded him in death. He resided all of his life in Jefferson County and was a 1949, graduate of Saluda High School. He was inducted into the United States Air Force on February 15, 1951, in Louisville, Kentucky, rising to the rank of Airman First Class, serving the Eleventh Fighter Interceptor Squadron. He served during the Korean War and was honorably discharged on February 18, 1955, from the 515th Air Defense Group at Duluth, Minnesota. He received the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the first & second Bronze Stars to the Korean Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was united in marriage on June 1, 1958, in Scott County to Arlene L. Bright. He began a career with the Indiana Kentucky Electric Corporation, retiring after 37 1/2 years of service. He enjoyed woodworking, using his metal detector, enjoyed reading especially about the Civil War, photography, he was a history buff, farming and running big equipment. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Madison. Bruce died Monday, September 10, 2007 at 5:53 pm at the Thornton Terrace Health Campus in Hanover, Indiana.

Bruce will be missed by his loving wife: Arlene L. Bright Bell of Madison, Indiana; his brother: Arthur H. "Arkie" Bell & his wife: JoAnna of Lexington, Indiana; his sisters in law & brothers in law: Anna Bell of Jefferson County, Indiana; Joan Keller of Columbus, Ohio; Robert M. "Bobby" & Brenda Bright of Lexington, Indiana; Bill & Marlene Bright Hensler of Greenfield, Indiana; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his mother: Helen Martha Bruce Bell died on October 11, 1980; his father: Albert Otto Bell died June 1, 1988; his sister: Chrystal Bell; his brothers: Albert Otto Bell, Jr., Ronald Bell & Jerry Bell; his special nephew: Rick Beard; his special niece: Michele Snyder.


FUNERAL CEREMONY
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, September 13, 2007 at 11:00 am, by Pastor Chuck Lynch at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive, Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the New Bethel Cemetery, Chelsea, Indiana, with military honors by Jefferson Post 9, of the American Legion.


VISITATION
Friends may call Wednesday, from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Thursday from 10:00 am until time of the service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive Madison, Indiana.
