OBITUARY
Eldora Hilton was born at Woonsocket, Rhode Island, Dec. 4, 1847, and passed away at her home in Orange, Cal., Sept. 5, 1919, at the age of 71 years, 9 months, 1 day. On March 3, 1865, she was united in marriage to William Harrod of Rockford, Ill., who passed away on Jan. 23, 1917, at their home in Orange, Cal. She is survived by ten children: Hattie Siegfried of Orange, Calif., Susie Con, of Paul, Idaho; Dora Carriker, of Burwell, Neb.; William, of Burwell, Neb.; James, of Enid, Oklahoma; Charles, of Giltner, Neb.; Joseph, Bert and Edwin of Gillette, Wyoming; Bertha Hitt, of Doniphan, Neb. There were 36 grandchildren and one great grandchild. One sister and three brothers to mourn her loss. They are Andrew Hilton, of Scott City, Kansas; Joseph and Edwin Hilton, of Winnebago, Ill.; Mrs. Clara David, of Rockford, Ill. Early in life she united with the M.E. church in which she has been a faithful follower of Christ. She was always of cheerful disposition, a kind and loving mother being highly respected by all who knew her. During her six months illness of heart trouble she never complained and was conscious until the last when she passed peacefully away to the great beyond where suffering shall be no more.
