Jessie Imogene Miller Kimberlain, 94, of Russell went to be with her Lord on Monday, October 12, 2020 at her residence.

Imogene was born October 10, 1926 in Russell to the late Lindsey and Vada Potter Miller.

In addition to her Parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children Rev. Bill McDowell in 1962, husband, Richard "Dick" Smith in 1977 and husband, Jack Kimberlain in 2007; a son, Larry McDowell; a son-in-law, Bob Salmon; a granddaughter, Melissa Salmon; a grandson, Dean Moody; five brothers and three sisters.

Imogene was retired from the Stores-Purchasing Department of AK Steel with 20 years of service. She was a faithful member of Fairview Baptist Church and was a part of the Outreach Sunday School Class. She also was a 50 plus year member of the Westwood Chapter #569 Order of the Eastern Star, a member of the Hillbilly Auxiliary, a member of the White Shrine, Armco Girls Bowling League and former member of the ARMCO Girls Club.

Imogene leaves behind her four loving daughters Sharon Conroy (Bill) of Clayton, NC, Linda Salmon of Russell, Brenda Salyers of Russell and Sandra Adams (Greg) of Flatwoods; a daughter-in-law, Patricia McDowell of Virginia; one sister Wanda Lee Caudill of Russell; 12 grandchildren, Jamie McDowell, Sherri Brown, Mark Salyers, Teresa Clevenger, Richie Conroy, Jeremy Conroy, P.J. Adams, Brandon Reffitt, Niki Adams, Trish Hurley, Daryl Moody, and Carol Daley; 16 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; and her fur baby Spanky; a special caregiver from Right at Home, Jennifer; along with a host of extended family and friends.

Imogene, loved her Lord above everything and was a strong positive influence by all who knew and loved her. She devoted her life to her family and even during hard times stayed strong in her faith. She never gave up on anything that she thought was important and gave whatever task at hand, her all. She lovingly passed these traits and values on to her beloved children. Imogene was an avid seamstress and quilter. She was extremely meticulous about everything she did, from her appearance to sewing/quilting, to her art. While in high school, she did the cartoons for the school newspaper. She was blessed to be able to travel the world over the course of her life, having visited Hawaii three times, Greece, and Germany, to name a few.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, October 15, 2020 at 1:30 PM at Fairview Baptist Church in Westwood with Jimm Smedley officiating. Entombment will follow at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday from 11:30 AM-1:30 PM at the church. Due to
COVID-19 restrictions, we ask that everyone planning to attend to please wear a mask and observe proper social distance.
