Mae Belle Cumbee Dooley, 82, of Bedford, died, Friday, Dec. 18, 2009 at Bedford Memorial Hospital. Born in Giles Co. Virginia on Thursday, Nov. 3, 1927 a daughter of the late Charley Mae Cumbee and Lydia Belle Harold Cumbee.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe Edgar Dooley; two brothers, Alfred Mae Cumbee and Calvin Randolph Cumbee; and two sisters, Anna Marie Janney and Bulah Ann Shaver.
Mae is survived by a daughter, Carol Sue Dooley and her fiancée, Edward Wooldridge; three grandchildren, Jennifer Sue Meador and her husband, Mike, James Edgar Long and his fiancé Sydney and Daniel Wayne Long and his girlfriend Chelsi; eight great-grandchildren; four brothers, Charles Richard Cumbee and his wife, Barbara, Roy Miller Cumbee, David Lee Cumbee and his wife, Dorothy and Thomas Eddie Cumbee.
A Memorial service will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009 at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford, with Rev. Mark Flores officiating.
